Dr. Tip Janvibol is the Founder and Managing Director of Tip & Partners in Cambodia. With over 30 years of legal and business experience, he is a respected figure in the Cambodian legal community. His expertise spans business and customs advisory, dispute resolution, due diligence, and tax advisory, and he is recognized by leading global legal directories as a distinguished practitioner.
He holds a Ph.D. from California Coast University, a Master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He also undertook Juris Doctor studies at the Commonwealth School of Law in Massachusetts and has received numerous advanced legal training certifications from institutions such as the Cambodian Bar Association, Hague Academy of International Law, and the United Nations.
Dr. Tip has served as a consultant and legal adviser to the United Nations, World Bank, ADB, various ministries, and international organizations, including UNICEF and ICRC. He also served as a consultant for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and as a law professor for the National Faculty of Law and Economics in Cambodia. Notably, he served as a Border Control Officer for UNTAC in 1993. Prior to founding Tip & Partners, he was a legal advisor with Tilleke & Gibbins (Cambodia), advising clients on a wide range of commercial and investment matters.
He is an active member of the legal community, having served on the Cambodian Bar Council, as Director of the Lawyers Training Institution, and as a Jurist Council Member under the Council of Ministers, advising the Royal Government of Cambodia on legal and judicial affairs.
